Hello fellow flipper flappers!

I'm a Canadian gal who got into diving when I ran away from my desk job to become a yachtie.
I first felt that magic while on vacation in Thailand, and snorkeled with reef sharks off Koh Tao-- the water was warm but shiver me timbers!! Magic kingdom! I knew the underwater world was for me. Years later, when I joined the crew of a private yacht, I got some time off in Grand Cayman to do a quickie Open Water. I've had the privilege of diving in Roatan Honduras, Belize, Mayan Riviera, and up and down Florida among other places.

For the last 3 years the Capt and I have been working and living in Victoria BC Canada, running a great boat for a wonderful owner. He likes to keep the boat in Canada, though, and although the diving here is supposed to be stupendous, I don't much like getting cold in the water. It's the tropics for me.

We are looking a trip to the PHILIPPINES very soon, in the next few weeks actually!!, and have found GREAT info and advice from the Paradise Philippines group here on ScubaBoard!

thanks for a great community, hope to add my 2 cents and help others!

Canada has a west coast?

j/k :D

Welcome! BTW, be careful with the "Magic Kingdom" phrase... it means something different here.
