I don't want to drill a hole in my mask (I cant because I have the oceanic ion 3 so its one lens) is there any effective other ways like head mounts?

They do make head mounts & seen one used during my recent trip to Cozumel, seemed like it was a cool easy to use concept.
One of the dm's commented to me that he has seen customers use head mounts in the past & he has experienced them forget that the camera is there, the second you decide to pull mask off face... camera gone....

The head strap works well but you have to try to keep your head movement reduced. I wear it under a hood to prevent loss. The underwater portions were all shot with a head mount on this video. For normal diving, I think a hand held camera is better, but if your hands are full like spearfsihing....

I used Marine Goop to create coated wire (single strands from electrical wire) attachment points on the side of my large frame single lens and then tied my Tachyon (similar to the GoPro) to that with 1/8 inch bungie (most good hardware stores carry bulk). I played around with it on land to get the aim right.
One thing about the Tachyon is that it eliminates one task while diving. I simply start it before entering the water and shut it off after getting back on shore or the boat. In between I fotrget it and it sees everything I see. Doesn't miss anything. Sure it requires some editing but in 2 weeks on Bonaire I hate to tell you how many shots I missed because I didin't have the camera runing when the shot presented itself. Also, my head movements are much slower and more steady than my hand. Watching my hand held vids gives me vertigo. LOL Batteries last about 4 hours and the vid card will hold 4 hours. I take along a netbook and lots of thumb drives to dump the pics & vids to after a days diving. I don't mind the editing and culling because it gives me a chance to relive the experience somewhat.

G'day,
I chose to use a Patriot3 Maritime Ops-Core Base Jump Sport Helmet - see Ops-Core Base Jump Sport Helmet - Helmets. It's working just great for what I want, which was a memory aid for remembering and logging my dives. Indeed, the results I'm getting are way better than I thought possible. I'm getting some quality footage that I can use to produce dive highlight videos.

I know people want to go hands free, but if you want quality footage (framing/composition) you really need the monitor back and a stable platform in your hand like a Light & Motion GoPro Action Camera Kit
