Hi,

can anybody give me hint how I can connect the fibre optic cable from the YS90 Auto strobe to the underwater WP-DC38 housing of the Canon S95?

Unfortunately I couldnt find a so called "Fibre Optic Cable Mount" for the S95.

For the G12 housing ther is one like that: Xit 404 Canon WP-DC34 (G11 & G12) Fiber Optic Cable Mount -- but not for the S95

Any hints are higly appreciated!

Rgds, Jan

Does the S95 have a "pop-up" flash? If so, can it even be used in the canon housing? If not, you cant use an optical strobe with it at all..

hi rat-man -- thanks for the links!

I also thought about getting the Inon 28LD Mount Base DC38 for Canon WP-DC38 & S95 [ino.456212143611] - $113.95 : Reef Photo & Video!, The Underwater Photo Pros together with a +5 macro wetlense.
Is the macro lense slidable at the front and it's possible to flip the macro lense easily on and off? Or is it dangling loose when it's not used??

If it's slidable that would be an advantage over this setup, which would have the macro lense dangling loose during most of the dive when it's not used, right??

rat-man, may I ask you if the Inon 28LD Mount Base DC38 for Canon WP-DC38 & S95 [ino.456212143611] - $113.95 : Reef Photo & Video!, The Underwater Photo Pros blocks the internal flash enough to completely avoid backscatter? Or do you have to use additional duct tape to block the flash completly?

I'm not sure about a flip adapter but the LD version of the lens just needs a quarter-twist to lock in/out. Inon also makes a lens caddy that attaches to the strobe arm which is where you store the lens when not in use.

Here's an old pic of mine

OK.. I think the Inon 28LD Mount Base DC38 unfortunately doesn't allow you to flip the lense easily on and off.

what about the "diffuser" of the Inon 28LD Mount Base DC38 where the fibre optic is attached? does it fully block the internal flash?
