I picked up some used gear yesterday and couldn't pass up the deal on a Ranger BCD. BC is in great condition, holds air overnight in the bladder, and has a longer LP hose with Scuba Pro LP inflator all functioning. The last Ranger I owned was in 1998 and it did not have the rear trim pockets that this one does. However, mine did have the ripcord system. This ranger instead has 2 weight pockets on the sides that are held in with a lot of velcro and have a left and right side red handle along with rear trim weights. I just don't know how to tell how old this setup is, or if this is a variation of the Ranger than may have been available. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks
John

It's the "zip touch" system. Not sure how it relates to the age of the unit. It was offered as an option if you didn't want the "ripcord." I have the zip touch on my Express Tech. It works fine. The velcro is only used if you drop the weights. It loads and unloads via a zippered top.
