I was just wondering on an average what is the income for a Divemaster working around the puget sound. i want to make my way to instructor and i was trying to see what type of finacial support it would give me.

thanks! Livefish

in the Parade magazine section that comes in many of the Sunday papers around the US they often list what people make for different types of jobs. They had one person listed as "scuba diver" for the Seattle area and he made $15,000/year. Of course this is just one person in one job, but I thought it migh be worth replying since i just saw this the other week. This was I think last sunday or the one before of this month (March 2006)

Make money as a DM????? I never did. When you really figure in all the costs you loose unless you are just working non stop tand I still think after figureing in all the equipment costs/repairs its hard to make any. Just my 2 cents worth.

The DMs at our LDS are not compensated, although I believe they get some discounts on equipment.

The DMs on the charter boats get $5 a tank in tips, from the people who tip.

Being a DM in the Puget Sound area is not going to help you financially much at all, I don't believe.
