I'm diving this weekend with a new hooded 3 mm vest (under my old no-hood wetsuit) and I'm not sure how much the new vest is going to throw off my buoyancy. Does anyone have a ballpark idea of how much extra weight I'll need? I'm thinking maybe 4# but I'm not sure.

Suggestions, anyone?

I think you're pretty much right in there.
No, actually I think that you're 13 ounces over weight!!!
Just kidding, of course . . . 4 sounds about right. May be ever so slightly heavy but won't be enough to matter.

I went from a 3mm hood (rental variety) to my very own freshly purchased 5mm hood with a 3mm skirt (the part you tuck in). I added about a pound or two. But then my breathing got better and I found I lost the added weight after about 2-3 months (10 dives).

I'd start with 2 #, but will bet that, after a few dives, you end up taking it back off.
