How is the Occidental Allegro?

I found this posted in another thread.

It was reported that the Occidental Grand and Allegro Resorts are standing but have 2 feet of sand in the rooms and lobby.

We are also very interested in how the Allegro faired seeing we are scheduled to be there 12/3...

Occidental Hotels has posted information on their site.
As of now all Occidental resorts will not be accepting
guests until Dec. 20th. They say that they are going to
reassess there estimate next Friday 11/4.

As of today, the Occidental site says the Allegro and the Grande are scheduled for reopening Feb. 1. I called the reservation # today to see if I could change my normal date, third week of Jan. to Feb, but was told that the Allegro will not be open until May 6. Don't really want to wait that long so will have to figure out an alternative--another place to go in Cozumel, or another destination.

A small problem compared to how tough it must be for all the wonderful staff people I have gotten to know at the Allegro over the years.
