If you both have your Advanced certifications then you will be fine. The reason they say the dives are for “advanced divers” is generally because of the depth. Many of the dive sites are pinnacles or patch reefs, which can go down way past 30m. Some such as Picture postcard and Steve’s Bommie are 60m or so at the bottom, and the Coral Sea dives are outside the Barrier Reef, so are often wall dives that go down to 1000m (hence the great viz).
Obviously you aren’t diving to these depths, but you do need experience / training in dives beyond 30m.
The 3 main operators that do these trips (Mike Ball, Spirit of Freedom, and Taka) all have crew (usually 2) in the water at each dive site anyway, so you can always tag along if you are worried about getting lost.
Many passengers have just finished their open Water courses and gout on these trips to take their Advanced, so with your 30 logged dives you definitely should be more than capable.
Currents can be strong at certain times, and at some sites this can be an advantage as they offer an opportunity to do some great drift dives (usually at Osprey).
Where currents are deemed to be too strong, the crew will often pick alternative sites, or wait until slack tides where possible. There are always lookouts available with rescue tenders, so if you do find the currents a little too strong (this is not common I should add) then you simply surface, signal and they come pick you up.
