I don't have a LDS to try one on, and I wanted to find out from those that have one, how accurate are the DUI sizing charts? I have zero ambition to dive ice, and I expect most of my diving to be up and down the West coast. Given the chance I might try the Great Lakes in summer. Looking at their sizing guidlines I'm at the lean end of a large (5'11, 180lbs, 42"chest, 34-36" waist). The only other caveat is that I have a long sleeve for my height (shirt is a 15 1/2" x 35") Any feedback is appreciated.

Regards,

Rob.

I strongly suggest you find a DUI Demo Days near you, go to it when it comes to town, and try the suit on. All the sizing charts in the world dont mean anything if the suit doesnt fit.

Where are you located? The Scuba Show in Long Beach, CA, in May is a great place to try on a DUI suit and get information. If you can't wait until then, go to DUI's website and try and find a stocking dealer in your area.

The DUI sizing charts are good for a start and you will find that sizing in drysuits isn't as critical as it is in wetsuits.

Only partially true! If a wetsuit is a bit too small, it will stretch and may still be comfortable to dive. If a trilam drysuit is too small, you are hosed.

The suggestions about DUI demo days or other venues are good ones. You can find a schedule of DUI demo days for 2004 here:

You can do like I did and go to DUI's website, www.dui-online.com and print out their measuring form and instructions. Take the measurements then contact a diveshop that deals with DUI and ask them to send those measurements to DUI to see if you'll fit into a stock suit. I recommend www.rexdive.com , they have a LDS in Connecticut (spelled right?).
