I called myself doing a gear search there and came up empty. . . oh well, it sounded alright to me.

Yeah, for example I just flipped thru the new issue, and one of the top 10 wreck dive sites listed is Aruba.mike_s:Their search engine isn't a very good one.
One thing about Scuba Diving Magazine to factor in is that they tend not
to be as open minded on reviews as you would want. They tend to review
gear and locations that are "big advertisers" for example. Find an item
you want to buy that doesn't advertise in their magazine, chances are that
it didn't "make the cut" of things they reviewed.
