Houston oil company makes two $1 million gifts to save popular West Texas swimming hole

Back when I was living in Lubbock, did my Rescue Diver training there.

Headline seems inaccurate. Apache had agreed to match donations to a public campaign up to $1 million. The campaign reached $1 million so Apache kicked in $1 million. But still a move to be appreciated.

I saw that. I worked for them from 2003-2005 and was involved when they acquired their acreage out there from Exxon. I kind of had to guide my boss thru it as he had never been involved in acquisition accounting. Good company but I left for a smaller outfit(more my bag)
