I currently have an underwater setup with a Sea and Sea case for a Ricoh camera. It came as a set. I purchased a YS-90 strobe and also a wide angle lens. I love photography and would like to upgrade my underwater setup so that I can use my Canon EOS 20D underwater. I am curious which housings are recommended and also if I will be able to use my current strobe with ttl capabilities. I'm sure I can research and find a good housing. The ikelite one seems like a good option but then I am not sure about trying to use the YS-90, and I do want the ttl option. Thanks for your help.

Michelle

PS My strobe is a YS-90 Auto TTL/Auto Strobe Duo

You wont be able to get ttl funcionality with an Ikelite housing and a sea&sea strobe, but you will be able to get a sync cable and you can then use the strobe in manual mode.. If you want ttl and you want to use ikelite you have to get one of there ds series strobes.

Is there a house that will work with ttl with the ys 90. Does sea and sea make a compatible housing for the D20. I didn't see one but maybe I missed it.

Thanks

Michelle

There is a slim chance that sea&sea will have a 20d housing in stock, I would call them directly and ask.. Even with a sea&sea housing you will need to get a ttl converter as they didnt build it into the housing. Your other option is to find a used one.

You might also be able to find someone to trade your ys90 auto for a ds50 or ds51, they you can have ttl on the ikelite housing.

Try Reef Photo & Video!, The Underwater Photo Pros for a housing. They might be able to find one for you.

I don't think you will be able to get ttl with the 20D. I believe Canon has a 6 pin connection. There seems to be some problems getting ttl to work with Canon. The People at Reef would know for sure.

I went ahead and got the ikelite housing for my 20d along with two ds-125 strobes that are ttl compatible with the camera. My sister seems interested in purchasing my current setup. If she changes her mind then I will just have to try and sell it to make up for a small portion of my recent purchase. Thanks for everyone's input.
