Hey,

Looking at Cozumel as a dive trip.

looking for all inclusive, and On the beach.

the one hotel that I was looking at was the

El Cozumeleno.

Any comments on that one or suggestions on others.

Thanks.

My husband and I stayed at the Occidental Grand in June and we both thought it was wonderful. Although, depending on when you're planning your trip, it may still be closed to complete repairs from the damage it sustained during the hurricane.

How do I know if you trust me?

Norther hotels probably have the nicest beaches in terms of soft white sand which extends well into the water. But you may have to taxi to town to catch your dive boat and face longest boat rides to the popular dive sites. Near town hotels may be on the water but tend to have iron shore "beaches" which means you go off rock directly into deeper water. Great for snorkeling or shore diving but bad for getting your feet wet. Souther hotels have adequate to good beaches but you may want beach shoes on once you get in the water (lots of hard/rocky areas). The further south you go, the finer the sand is. They are also located within sight of the popular dive sites.

Scuba club is my favorite for laid back easy living and diving but has little for the non-diver.

Occidental Grand is luxurious and more appropriate for non-divers.

I have never stayed in the northern hotels.

My husband and I are both divers and we stayed at the Occidental Grand, as did many other divers. It just depends on what you are looking for and has nothing to do with being a diver, or not. I might add, it's also great for divers because the reefs are only a few minutes away and the dive ops pick up right there, which was really nice.
