Hot/cold-shoe compass

I dive with 2 macro-flashes, a snoot, 2 close-range video floods(4k lumen,) w/ a TG7 and a gopro(mounted on a tri-ball-mount.) I want a compass mounted to my camera tray. Does anyone on here use a hotshoe/coldshoe mount for a compass? Realistically, i only see 2 options, either a coldshoe mounted compass, or an upside down side-window compass on the tray.

To further complicate things: i relocated the gopro from the coldshoe to the tri-ball, because i couldn't get the snoot positioned where i wanted it with the gopro on the coldshoe.

Could you use a GoPro mount in the cold shoe and then by some fashion of additional home made devices attach the compass to that? Will the compass be affected by all of the surrounding stuff?

Why cannot you just wear the compass on your wrist? Or get a dive computer with an integrated compass and wear that on your wrist?

Another possibility would be to fabricate an extension to your base tray and place the compass on that to the right or left.

You coud mount the wrist type dive computer with integral compass to your inner, left or right float arm where I have my rear view mirror?



I think you need curb feelers, uh, ah, I mean reef feelers on that rig . This fellow probably has a compass in there somewhere, maybe!

That's my concern. I wouldn't trust it.
