I searched 3 different ways for making a Hose Protector install/remove station and evidently nobody has posted about one.
I have 2 junk hoses 1 LP 1 HP. Any ideas how I can use these to make a Hose Protector install/remove station without welding on the fittings? I don't have a welder to use a small items, I'd just destroy the fittings.
Thanks in advance.

I'll think on it... I don't use hose protectors, so I'll need a bit to wrap my head around it!

I thought everyone did. Thanks James not many ideas on this.

I'm thinking maybe drill a hole thru the crimped part of the fittings with a piece of the hose still in it, and use a SS or other hard metal rod as a pin. Picture a metal plate bolted to the wall with the fittings pinned behind the plate sticking out of the plate, work the protector on he hose, thread the end of the hose onto the corresponding fitting bolted to wall and pull the protector to the end of the hose.
Removal is done by threading the other end of the hose into the a different fitting and pulling the protector off. I think.

Welding hose protectors? What exactly are you talking about? When I think hose protector, I think of the little rubber things you slide onto a hose by hand. I suppose you could use heat-shrink as well, but then you'd have to cut them off later.

How do you get to welding hose protector from welding on the fittings ?????

How do you get them on? How do you one off if it needs to be replaced? Most take it to the LDS where they have a tool that does that, I'm trying to make one.

Might be a terminology or translation issue; what do you mean by…

Boss Hose Protector Fixture
$82.00
This would be very simple to make but only deals with the protector on the 1st stage side of the hose.

You cut them off and toss them...

I'd probably cut the hose too! Now I soak them hot water to soften 'em up and slide them off.
