I have the short, grey hose with the qd and hose hat that came with my LCD 30 Wing. I have about 10 dives on the setup since I bought it at the end of last year and am VERY happy with the whole thing. Just noticed yesterday on my first dive since having my reg serviced that the QD started leaking (on the hose side) once I got below 30'. My primary (but not the octo) started freeflowing at this depth too. At this point I am not sure if the prob is the hose, the reg or both (I'll be taking it in to the LDS to be looked at tomorrow).

My question is, if it turns out there is a prob with the hose or fitting is this something you guys typically warranty (just asking before I let the LDS sell me a new one)? I may be better off skipping return shipping and buying a new hose from the LDS, but they'll prob have to special order one that short. If it isn't warranted, how much do you charge for a new hose and how fast could you get one to Illinois?

I realize this is kind of trivial, just trying to figure out what is the fastest and less expensive route for me!

Thanks for your help.

Chris,

I'd wonder if the first stage IP is too high, but in any event your hose should not leak.

We would need to see the hose. I'd suggest returning it ASAP. We will inspect it and if it's got a problem we will send you a new one without delay.

So common to find new problems right after a service. It does sound like you may have encountered a service error and probably should go back to the provider to have it inspected and corrected. He may take care of the whole thing (primary freeflow & QD leak). If not, the QD leak is most likely the o-ring in that connection. It is not an easy one to change but if you can fix it or have it fixed locally, it may be cheaper & faster than shipping. If not, or if the problem is more than the o-ring (quite unlikely) then you might have to send it back to Tobin.
