I just purchased a pinnacle Titanium, Merino wool lined 7mm Hooded vest. The body fits great. The hood is super tight. I have a small head too. I wear children's glasses and purchased a medium. Has anyone else experienced this? Is it meant to be trimed?

This is from the Pinnacle web site:

Merino™ Lined Hooded Vests are the ultimate in layering garments.

3mm face seal can be trimmed to any size and shape without fear of seams unravelling
Hood is vented to allow air to escape

I would be real cautious or get professional help trimming it.

What size did you get? Hooded vests are typically sized for the vest, but the hood should be comparable.

I have an 3 mil XL elastiprene merino hooded vest and the hood is a little tight but is OK. Pinnacle does not seem to have a head size chart for their hoods online, but if you go to a Pinnacle hood on the Leisure Pro site and pick the size chart, it will give general guidelines for hood sizes vs. head measurements.

You can also call Pinnacle, their customer service is great. I do believe that you can trim the hood, but I would talk to someone first as I believe that you would only want to trim if the hood covers too much of your face.

I have a medium. I was between a small and a medium so I went with the larger one. I am going to try it on again and see if I can swallow comfortably. It just felt extremely tight. I wear a hood all the time, so I was very surprised. I am leaving for Puerto Vallarta on Saturday and the water temp is a little cold under the themocline. I probably would be fine with my current hood but I thought I would give a little extra warmth. Sounds like this hooded vest would be great for warmth, I just need to find the right size.
