Honeymoon suggestions Spring 2011

We are getting married March 26, 2011 and are looking for some suggestions on good dive spots during the spring time. Both of us have been certified for nearly a year, we have never been to Hawaii and would like to go outside of the U.S.

It's still some time away but I'd like to start thinking of a location and start locking in flights, hotels, etc.. We're thinking some time in late April or even early May (if the timing is best depending on location).

What kind of budget do you have? Are you willing to take long flights or do you prefer shorter flights? Being that this will be a honeymoon trip are you looking for luxury? I think if you give more information on what you are looking for you will get some responses.

With not much to go I'll give you a suggestion. Cozumel is relatively easy to get to, and can be inexpensive. If you don't have to have a beach at your hotel then the Cozumel Palace is highly regarded. I have never stayed there, and I think it is the most expensive on the island. If having a nice sandy beach is a requirement then you would need to look at the resorts in the south side of the island.

Also if you choose a location in the Caribbean or Mexico check on orbitz.com for there promotion. It has been $200 off per room for several years for 7 day vacations or longer. The code for next years will probably become available around October which might not work for you since you will need to lock in location before then. You could use it if you would like to scout your location before comitting to it.

what type of place are you looking for? Fancy resort or dive resort? Tons of diving or 2 morning dives and then lay on beach all afternoon, party trip or dive trip?

2 of my favorites:
Welcome to CoCo View Resort
Scuba Club Cozumel Dive Resort

these are both "dive resorts" and not fancy, the emphasis is on great diving and hanging out with other divers. I highly recommend both places for a trip focused on diving and not on partying.
