I've recently been trying to track down good online dive sites for articles and message boards. I "think" this is the best message board I've ever seen, but I was wondering what else was out there. I have found two neat places.

1. Rodale's. They USED to have a nice webpage, but now it's all compartmented and difficult to find anything. I like their gear reviews and travel articles. They never review backplate rigs or Diverite gear though. Message board is hard to use too.

2. CDNN. I LOVE their articles. It's like they don't care who they piss off. I heard some of what they write isn't terribly accurate, but those just might be from people that the articles target.

Could I have some objective feedback?

CDNN ... bad choice.
They harvested email addresses off some of the boards and spammed them, calling them "subscribers" when presenting to potential advertisers.
No legitimate outfit has any business spamming. Presenting bogus info to get someone to part with their $$ is called "fraud".
For their domain registration they use a bogus name & contact info, their phone number was for an auto body shop that had never heard of them. The "office address" was for a little mail drop.
Makes a person wonder what they're hiding from, eh? Maybe its from the sources they blatently plagiarize ...
I boycott websites like that, if they can't do honest business in the open, I don't need to visit the site.

CDNN does have a bad reputation amongst the cyber-diver boards.

The Deco Stop......Ditto. If your looking for technical insight it's great. I think the rec diver can learn alot there as well. Everyone is very helpful and willing to share.

Thank you for the links. I'll try them out. I think I visited DecoStop once a long time ago...

Regarding CDNN, I am aware that they have a spamming problem and are critiqued for "ripping off articles and headlines" from other people. My chief concern however is whether or not the articles they post are truthful. If so, could someone please cite recent examples? I have read quite a bit of them and have not picked up on anything blatantly false.
