What's the latest word on this? Seems a few years ago it was changing back and forth, from being in use or not in use, from helping avoid lines to making no difference at all. Haven't heard anything recently.

We were there in March and didn't do the pre-immigration. The process was fine.

We have never bothered, when we went in June I didn't see anyone who appeared to have pre-registered either.
The difference might be that the Canadian charters are not on the busy weekends.

Don't use the site since it is not secure and any information is not encrypted.

http vs http

information not sent secure vs information encrypted at user computer

If they cannot even get that correct, how secure is there database?

Yeah, we've been there twice and in the long run it's no big deal. We'll just deal with it when we get there. Whether it is 2pm or 3pm or 4pm next Saturday when we are having drinks at the bar realizing we are once again in paradise, come 5pm it isn't going to matter.

Oh, puhleezz. HTTPS is being pushed by google because it does not allow Evil third-world ISPs replace google ads with their own in transit. Because when they do, google loses money.

There are instances where you do want to talk https, like to your bank, but there are far fewer of those than we're being led to believe.

Take my professional advice: worry about your "smart" thermostat and cellphone-controlled power outlets instead.

(And back to our scheduled broadcast: wasn't someone from Roatan tourist bureau posted here a while back that they were expressly told to stop people with those printouts from using the express lane?)
