You can't plug them, but you could inject it full of oxygen safe grease in those holes, and then cap it with a flexible cover, like a bicycle inner tube.
 
Hey Jimmer! Would I fill the entire interior of the chamber with grease? Or just a little in each hole?

I do most of my diving in the longpoint region of Lake Erie. The shop I work for runs charters out that way. Let me know what kind of depth you want to hit, and we can arrange something.

That would be great! I'm good to 100' to 120' feet, but I'm still diving wet so temp. is a factor. How cold does Erie get at depth?

Erie is pretty much a constant 42 to 50 degrees F all year round when you get below the thermocline. I dove it for years in a wetsuit, but long bottom times and repeat dives can be a little cold.

The good part is once you get beyond the thermo, the visibility can be amazing, especially early in the season. I've had over 100 foot viz on many occasions.
