Need your help! We are planning our first trip to Cozumel around June and would appreciate input on where to stay and who to dive with (where and who NOT to go with is welcome, too). Is there a season to avoid (besides Spring Break)?

This will be a quick 4 day trip from SoCal and our focus is multiple amazing dives over resort qualities.

We are both instructors and avid u/w photographers -

Thanks for your input!

Cheers!

I prefer to stay in PDC as well. The only problem is that staying there and diving on Cozumel will cost you around 2 hours a day on the ferry. For me, time is the most precious commodity when on vacation.

Hello DiverBas, respect the dive op you can dive with while Cozumel, i recommend Blue Note. They have a very comfortable boat, very nice crew and the dives are in small groups, with long bottom times, specially if you take the camera. Cheers,

Hey,
Been to Cozumel several times. In fact, we are taking all of our kids and grandkids June 11th - June 18th. Always dive with "Living Underwater". Good friends of ours and planning to dive when we go. Go to Jeremy's website at Living Underwater offers a personalized, fun and safe Cozumel diving experience! . New boat, large tanks. Usually our dives are 1hr,15minutes etc. but he caters to whatever diver wants. I blew my eardrum out 7 years ago during certification in Arkansas, so Jeremy knows it takes me longer to get down, but being a photographer also, he knows if I'm not taking pictures, something is wrong with me. So he is very alert of his fellow divers. This is not a cattle boat operation. Usually no more than 7 divers, if that and will pick you up at your hotel or meet him at Marina. Good luck. Maybe we will seen you there.

We'll be in Playa June 12th - June 18th. Will travel to Coz on 6/15 for a day on the island. Almost always dive with Blue Angel in Coz and Abyss in Playa.

Just returned from Cozumel at the end of April. I did 17 dives with Dive with Martin, including my AOW certification. Small boats, attentive divemasters and very good prices (especially the packages available on there website Home Page). They asked us where we wanted to go every morning and afternoon.

I stayed at the Iberostar, which is an all-inclusive on the southern part of the island. They have a pier where the boat picked me up every day at no extra charge. The on-site shop is Dressel Divers, which charges approximately twice as much and usually have 15 plus people per boat. I'd rate the resort as good if diving is your main concern. Otherwise, I was not overly impressed.

Hope this helps

Enjoy Cozumel
