Hi folks,

I have a gauge that consistently reads ~250psi too high (the needle rests at 250 instead of 0, and shows a similar offset at the top end) so I was hoping to open it up and adjust the needle. I know this isn't strictly necessary (I can just adjust it in my head), but it's something I'd prefer to fix.

I've read multiple posts about SPG disassembly, and it seems that only some SPG faces can be removed as some are crimped on instead, is any aware if this is true of the HOG SPG ( http://imgur.com/rWFplfG )?

If they are removable, any recommendations for the dimensions of the replacement O-Ring I should use if I replace it?

I do not recommend trying to remove the face. How old is the SPG and when/where did you buy it? Did you contact the dealer you got it from to see about a warranty replacement. You can find the warranty claim form here - http://www.edge-gear.com/Assets/file/EDGE&HOG Warranty Repair Request Form.pdf

Of course if the gauge is a couple years old or more you would be better served just buying a new one.

When did the gauge start doing this? Was it dropped or seriously jostled at some point? I've sold a bunch of these and never saw one come from the factory like that. Not saying it isn't possible but I haven't seen any in the stock I've gotten in and sold.

PS your photo link is not working for me.

they can also regularly have the spring stretched if you open the tank valves too quickly. Might just have to bite the bullet and get a new one. Properly taken care of these can last decades, I actually still use a pair of IDI gauges from the 80's

Thanks, fixed the link.

It was like this when I first got it, but it was until (much) later that I started using it, well past its return period.

Have you tried to contact the dealer you bought the SPG from? The HOG family is a fairly small one, and most of us dealers try very hard to take care of our customers.
