After being grounded for 8 months due to COVID-19, my dive buddy & I decided to just do some hiking in Big Bend National Park. We drove for about 9 hours from home (Lake Jackson, TX) to Big Bend, which about 621 miles (1000 km) away.

We had a blast! We spent 6 days of hiking & camping, seeing several wild animals (black bears, deers, red fox, etc.)

Very cool. I would have thought the bears would be more skittish. How cold did it get at night?

Thanks! Glad to hear that you like it.

It got down to the 50’s. Perfect weather for hiking & camping. The tough part was carrying those gallons of water since November is a dry season. But, I like the exercise!
