Highland Mini-Tech Gauges - $29.88 - Includes Hose Mount Adapter - Click to Take a Look

We have had good success with this new Highland Mini-Tech gauge. This gauge face is a full 1" diameter, not the tiny face found on many other button gauges. The face is thick, unbreakable lexan plastic. The pressure transfer mechanism is constructed with a small brass bourdon tube for improved accuracy. It mounts directly in the high-pressure port of any first stage, or mounts on the end of a high-pressure hose, using the hose mount adapter WHICH IS INCLUDED. This allows you to use a short HP hose, just like on the standard brass and glass gauges for your sling bottles, providing easy, direct viewing of the gauge. Highland followed our recommendations and had this one made with a plain white face - no silly colors or other distractions on the face.

Are these O2 Safe/Clean?

I like the idea of these little things for deco bottle, but what bugs is that they only use half of the already small face to display the scale. Why not run the scale over 360 degrees i.e. double the needles movement, double the reading accuracy? (as is, the bottom half of the face appears to be wasted for practical purposes)

On an unrelated note, do you carry these 2" Dive-Rite webbing locks:

(please list on site if you do... edit: found them, under accessories -> everything else)

The design and construction of bourdon tubes is a somewhat difficult process. The sweep of the current gauge is a direct reflection of the bourdon tube for that gauge. The tube manufacturer sells this same tube to a number of gauge manufacturer. The face simply reflects the current bourdon tube.

I do know the XS Scuba/Highland is currently in the process of designing a similar gauge with a wider needle sweep. Unfortunately, that will be some months away. Thanks.
