Well this sucks. Looks like I'm seeing anywhere from 13%-20% price increase on all Orcatorch lights. What really stinks is I didn't even get a heads up... would have loved to get a few orders in. I do not see the price increase reflected on Amazon yet, but I'm sure it's coming.

For now any lights that were ordered from me up until this point will obviously be held at the same price but from here on out I just have to pass the extra price onto the buyer. Just for reference my prices will be; D630 $500 and the D710 will be $145 (shipped). All their lights are going up but those are the 2 that I sell the most.

That's a bummer:( I'm a diver 1st and foremost, so my advice would be buy American if it'll save you a few $$. The D630 is still a great light at that price, but for handhelds it might be more economical to stick stateside.

still cheaper than when I purchased my D630 2 years ago, paid over $650

That's true.. but I hate raising prices. I hate when prices get raised on me.

It's funny, we can complain but at the end of the day $500 or even $650 is still a good bit less than your next option.

How's it holding up?

Still going strong, I tore down the goodman handle and used bungee to make a handgrip with the upper aluminum mounting plate. Keeps the profile lower especially when you clip it off to your DRings. Nothing wrong with it other than a couple of battle scars around the aluminum head.

I wrapped some braided cable sleeve housing around the cord to protect it, and reduce any interference with transmitters too.

That's awesome. Mine is a little beat up, but still works just fine after 2 years. I love it.

I actually had a chance to work directly with Orcatorch to I recreate any transmitter issues and I had to have the light and my perdix directly next to each other in a very weird way. I couldn't get it to happen in any normal operation. I don't know if they changed the design of the cord or what, but I don't (and never really have) any issues.

DC on right and light on left for me.. I can see maybe if both were on the same wrist it might be an issue at times, but even when I did that it wasn't often enough to be an issues. Mine is the 2.0.

Wow, this is still considered cheap. In Norway the D630 retails for $1050.

That's insane. I have always offered to ship outside of the US, just have to figure what shipping would be. To be honest, I never really wanted to make a lot of money selling lights. I just found a good deal and was hoping to pass it on to my dive "buddies". It does put a little change in my pocket.. but I'm not breaking any records out here!

I'm in sidemount, and the cable was wrapping behind my back under my wing. I noticed occasional transmitter drop outs, and they kept happening at one of my favorite training holes at around 100-120ft. Got spooked not being able to access the transmitters and having to rely on the backup button gages.

I wrapped the cable with the braided cover, and also went ahead and replaced the transmitter batteries even though there was no warning that they were getting low.

I'm not sure if the batteries were the fix, or the cord wrap. But so far I've never had that issue since. Even if the cord wrap isn't helping with the transmitter connection issue, it at least adds a pop of color, helps to differentiate the cord by texture and color, and also provides a layer of friction protection. Figured it wouldn't hurt to just toss it on, so far so good!
