hi, I'm a student and I found this site while doing some research for a school project. I would like to connect with other divers based in the United States, who would be willing to spend a few moments to help me on this project. I created a short survey, but unfortunately, i can't post urls until I've made five or more posts. But if you would be willing to help me out, hopefully I can get that posted soon. On another note, if anyone knows of any good dive spots in the midwestern united states, i would be interested in hearing about them. I am new diver and would like to practice my diving skills, however, unfortunately as a student I don't have much money to travel far. Thanks a lot.

Hi welcome to Scubaboard...I'm Joe from Cocoa Beach...If you decide to come to FL for spring break...I can sure direct you to some inexpensive places here

Not sure what qualifies as the midwest, but the great lakes offers some great diving, especially the underwater preserves around michigan. they ring the state, so if you are close you could probably get to one. does your school have a dive club. I found as a new diver a school dive club was a great way to get dives on the cheap since everyone was in the same boat as me, we had no money. but, at ucsb we could dive right off the beach on campus so that made things a little easier. there was also a slow dive boat that offered great inexpensive trips out to the Channel Islands for some of the best diving on god's blue earth.

Good luck with your diving and get to me on by message if you need someone to do the survey. be happy to help if I can. I too have had to do surveys for school projects.
