Hello everyone. I've been reading around here for a few weeks. Impressed with all the knowledge. It's been helpful.

Yesterday I ented the water a man and left the water a man that scuba dives.

I was a bit apprehensive about diving and really had a bit of a time wrapping my head around breathing underwater. I had a stellar dive instructor that did not rush and helped me get my confidence up and showed me that I really could do it. I couldn't be more pleased with the whole process.

I live in Austin Texas (here about 3 years). My wife has been certified for about 6-7 years and is pretty advanced. My brother in law is certified as well and has been for 2-3 years. My local shop is awesome (I shopped around before I chose one to work with).

We have my first "real dive" (not a class situation) scheduled for this coming weekend. We're gonna take it easy and work on my bouyancy for about a tank of air. I absolutely cannot wait.

So there's my intro and I'm really glad this place is here. So much information here, I love it.
