Hi I'm an open water diver that prefers warm clear water with life or interesting depositional environments. I am interested in the technical aspects of diving if it involves keeping me alive while I am doing more important stuff like finding out which rock will form next in the current aquatic depositional environment that I find myself. I would prefer to log things such as the pH and salinity of the water I am diving in more than what I was wearing at the time. I am interested in the partial pressure of carbon dioxide and oxygen in so far as it influences the deposition of carbonate.

Hi prettyfish, welcome to :sblogo:! I'm in the Philly area too, and we have lots of interesting modern sedimentary evironments to see around here...even if the water isn't warm.

Thanks for the reply. Are there any local dive clubs in the area?

Yes, the Keystone Divers Association meets the first Wednesday of each month in West Chester - they usually have a good speaker. As far as active diving clubs, check out Dive NY on this board, they meet up at Dutch regularly and do trips together too. It's a really good crew, just opt in to their forum under "QuickLinks >> Group Preferences".

Cheers,

Tim

Thanks for the congrats. Are the three socks for redundancy?

Welcome to the board and definitely check out the Dive NY group. We dive all over but most get their weekends in at Dutch Springs.

And the drydiver has a picture of socks because she has Awesome Socks...........and she may kill me for letting that out.

:rofl3: ummm, not redundancy, although I do have a habit of misplacing things, it was more for the design I believe, I wear crazy socks. Now that I think of it, someone else found that for me, maybe there is something to the 3rd sock bit, never thought about it before :hm:
