I know its been a while sense I posted but between working full time and running a full time business there just hasnt been any spare time.
We have had a few calls but much less eventful than normal years. We had a Subaru turn turtle in the shallow water of Hayden Lake after hitting a tree. That one ended up with one fatality.
We had a Navy Seal wanna be jump off the back of a boat that was on plane yelling Im going in Navy style. We recovered him 6 weeks later at 130 on the bottom of CdA Lake.
Weve had a few other calls that havent amounted to much. One was to go look for a human Skelton that was next to a red jug. We found a pile of white rock next to a traffic cone. The dive was a nice summer one in the river.
Last night we got paged and canceled after one of our patrolmen got into pursuit of a stolen car. Dirt bags must have not known the road they took dead ended at the river, like 50 feet or so above it. They went for a Thelma and Louise style ride off the road, through a chain link fence while airborne and ended up down at the rivers edge within a foot or two of making a rather big splash. This could have been interesting as the dam is wide open.
Today we tried to do some sonar training but ended up with one frozen issue after another. So we moved the big boat inside the heated bay area and well try again next week when the temps are going to be near zero. Today was in the mid 20s.
I should be a little more active now as my business slows way down in the winter months.
