Hi all,
Just subscribed today!
I am a British Sub Aqua Open Water Instructor and a TDI Advanced Trimix diver. My home is in Aberdeen, Scotland where I spend my days off diving as much as I can.
We have excellent waters around here and viz can be up to 30M. Numerous wrecks cover our coast.
My local club site is www.deesidedivers.org and this has an excellent link to Diving in Scotland if you are interested.
My partner is also a keen diver and is qualified to BSAC Sports diver. We are off to Barbados soon to get married and of course go diving!!
I am keen on any topic of diving from teaching to technical.
Drop me a mail if you have any questions or just want to say hi!
My next goal is to become a PADI Assistant Instructor and TDI Nitrox Instructor. My partner (Nina) wants us to do a Cave course!! HHmmmmm:eek:
My job takes me all around the world at short notice but I can log into my AOL from anywhere.
Drop us a mail sometime?

Scott , Nina and Markus.

Welcome aboard. I visited your area in 1990. I would love to go back.

Enjoy the scubaboard.:mean:

You are an excellent spokesman for diving in Scotland. 30m vis is what I like.

Another dive destination to plan for. Maybe I'll see you there someday.

I'm sure you will find--like I did-- the board to be poplulated with friendly helpful people.

Enjoy

Nice to have you around... and greetings from a Welshman living in Canada... married to a Canadian with Isle of Islay blood on both sides!

Take care and hope to see you in Scapa sometime... or you can come and dive the Great Lakes... warmer on the surface and we sell scottish beer here!

Take care

Is it true that the first BCDs were made from modify bagpipes? Welcome Lad.:mean:

Cheers all !!!
Thanks for your replies.
Yes, BC's were made from modified bagpipes but there develoment was slow due to the Haggis hunting season.
We have two season a year. The blue and red haggis season.
Glad some of you enjoyed Scapa.......
I am looking forward to one of my expeditions next year which is Northern Island and Im told some of the wrecks there are some of the best in the world (allthough deep 40M to 70M)... watch this space!
I am currently in Equtorial Guniea (West Africa) just now... so no diving for me until I get home :(
Did have a chance to dive in East Canada because I was there due to work but the charter boat broke down so had to shore dive! They didn't rent drysuits so did two shore dives and took two days to warm up!!!!.
I have since discovered that you have 100's of wrecks there.....AARRGGHHHH!!!! Ah well next time!
Catch you all later, im off to avoid the mosquitos and snakes!

Scott fa Scotland.
