Good Morning. I just found this board the other day. VERY interesting. Lots of experience here. I hope to learn alot from reading the posts. I'm just a plain little recreational diver from Maryland, with a YMCA open water II certification. Just got back from my dream dive vacation in Palau, aboard the Big BLue Explorer. I went with a group, Blue Marble Divers from Hagerstown MD. The crew was great, quite an international group. Marius from Germany, Richard (Junior) from England, Berry from Holland, Gat from the Phillipines, and Terry (the old master) from Australia. It was by far the best vacation I have ever had. Brought back a dvd and all my friends and family have thoughly enjoyed watching the it with me.

Some of my trips have been Roatan... Coco View (Tulio was my dive master. I came home from Palau to find out he had died. Very sad.), Belize.. Lighthouse Atoll, Grand Cayman...Sunset House, Cozumel...several times and places. Next year we hope to go to Roatan again and Dominica.

Anyway, thanks for listening....

Welcome to the board. I'm a fellow Marylander (Columbia). I don't know how much local diving you do, but there is a section for the mid-atlantic divers around here. And, a bunch of us are getting together with the NC wrecking crew on 7/16 weekend at lake rawlings. Join us if you can.

Wow, Palau... I want to go there. I want to dive more of those wonderful tropical locales. but, I'll have to stick to lakes and quarries until time permits.

Talk to you soon I hope.

Chris

hello from Maryland, back, I am from Sykesville MD. You mentioned Blue Marble Divers, is that the Cochran dealer out there? Welcome!

Good to see another Marylander here!!

Hope to see you around if you do dive locally!!!

Hi All

Chris thanks for the invite. I'll keep an eye out for your trip. Right now I work weekends, so can't get to Rawlings anytime soon. Maybe someday

OfftheWall...yup Dave Stealy is the owner and he does sell Cochran. He and his wife Mary are great folks, if you get up that way stop in and drop my name!

Welcome to Maryland! I live in Jessup. As Chris mentioned, there is good local diving available. Besides the quarries (Rawlings, Millbrook, Bainbridge, Guppy Gulch, and Willow Springs), there is ocean diving through Surface Interval (www.surfaceinterval.net) and OC Diver (www.ocdiver.com). Hope to see you around. We Marylanders should all get together sometime.

Mike

Oh my God! A Valley Girl from Maryland, who'd have thought. Welcome to SB, looks like you have alot of experience yourself. Quite an impressive list of dive locations. Are you rich :D

Thanks to all who've responded. This is such a great board!

David...I wish I was rich, just in alot of debt :D I'd rather spend it having fun than saving for other things...LOL...but my house IS starting to fall down around me.

Mike...I'll check out those sites you mentioned. Until now I've avoided the quarry's and cold water, but I'm thinking about possibly looking to become a dive master in a year or so. I'm hoping to get my Advance OW and SLAM courses this year. So, I guess I'll have to stop being a "dive diva" :banghead:

That's Ok, we used to have the pretentious rich divers forum, ;) but it got closed down 'cuz nobody was posting there. I too am going to work my way to DM and beyond.
Glad you like the place, Lil' Irish Temper did the wallpaper and helped out with the painting.
