Long time lurker (even before I got certified) but first time posting.
Just wanted to say hi. Obviously I am new to diving. So don't expect to see a single post from me containing semi intelligent conversations regarding diving.
What I learned before getting certified:
Get nitrox certified: done
Jacket BC wasn't for me.
So I purchased a back inflate travel BC (the Rogue) and plan on purchasing a wing and backplate as I become more proficient (my current BC will be used by my girlfriend when she gets certified. Yes it fits her).
So far my air consumption is pretty good.
I have 3 aluminum 80s and 1 HP steel 100.
I use an aqualung legend second stage and an Apeks puck style octo. Also I use an OTS Spectrum FFM sometimes.
I have only had the chance to dive in lakes (lake travis and blue lagoon) down to 100 feet.
I plan to take the following courses after the holidays:
Extended range nitrox.
Stress and rescue.
Solo diver.
Also, I may or may not get a side mount setup instead of a wing and backplate. Just depends on the type of diving I decide to get into as I figure everything out.
