Just a quick hello to all you guys and gals.

Quick background, I've just returned from Fuertuventura and while there did a DSD course plus an extra dive for a bit of fun - until this I was a surface warrior only!!

I'll be moving away to sunnier climates in the future so I'm wanting to do a divemaster internship during my career break, maybe on to the instructor courses to give me possible options when I do move. I do have a question on this though as I have been diagnosed with an inner ear problem that CAN effect my balance, so not sure if this will hinder what I want...?!

Anyway, I'm off to do some research and finding the right section for my above concern.

Cheers,
Gary.

Ga1050,

Welcome to ScubaBoard…the internet’s portal into Poseidon’s realm.:admingreet:

Doing a DiveMaster Internship for a career break is great; I did mine at the young age of 48 at the Utila Dive Center...great place to take such a break.

Contact Andy (also from the UK) at Utila Dive Centre|PADI Career Development Center|PADI Scuba Diving|Utila Bay Islands Honduras|Caribbean and Central America and I think you will have a great time.

I would also look into a local BSAC club. www.bsac.com BSAC is very different than PADI or NAUI and what you might learn there will only compliment what you would learn in a DM internship. Plus the traing is free to members. I was a Kuwait BSAC member beofore taking my PADI DM course last year. Here is a review of my DM course: http://www.scubaboard.com/forums/ba...ew-utila-dive-centers-divemaster-program.html

Good luck with your adventures.

Cheers,

Wow, great review of you DM course, cheers Michael.

I'm really looking forward to just getting back into the water at the moment. It turns out thanks to a nuisance medical condition I may need to consider taking it more slowly than I'd hoped, so unlikely I can jump straight into a full DM internship :depressed:

Ah well, there will definitely be diving on my career break either way!!!

Thanks for the BSAC link as well, I'll have a read into it.

Cheers,
Gary.
