Hi I'm a relatively new diver. My wife and I got OW certified this spring and since have been on several dives in the area, plus one cool trip to the springs in FL. Now that the local season is pretty much over. I'm ready for a three months of saving up for more diving.

Well Tom and wifey welcome to Scubaboard! This is a great time to spend if you must be top-side anyway.

Got to watch out for some of the locals thought.

Dee: she'll try and get you to shave your head and buy a rag

Joewr: The realtor of the board always trying to sell spots

DivingGal: Canadian CAD Diving Captain, the drysuit queen of the northern climates

Butch103: He is one of those Canadian Beer Drinking Hockey Fans.... Go Leafs

ScubaBaby: She's okay but watch out she is fierce when you get her riled! But we all love her!

Bottom_Sucker: The only carp to ever don Scuba Tanks hehehehe Just Kiddin, he is okay so long as you forget he is Canadian Too

Natasha: Pretty levelheaded but the name speaks of a dark past

Capt Dave: Evil Bert comes to mind, but that is just a mental image

TexasMike: He looks better with the cool hair and shades than in real life, he is a scuba junkie, find him if you need a fix!

Gosh so many good people....

Tholt576 and 577(is that your wife?)

What more can I say after Syruss' post? Just my usual greet: You have come to the right place for scuba lovers! If you have questions, we have answers; if you have answers, we have questions; or if you just want to sit on the gunnels and enjoy yourself on an SI here, please do.

It is the weekend and, so, many of the usual suspects are off diving or haunting their local dive shops (LDS). As soon as they get back, I am certain they will all politely introduce themselves...but beware, they occasionally make outrageous requests!

Again, welcome!

Joewr...this space for lease....special rates for Tar Heels...

Tholt 576, and Mrs. 576,
Welcome from NJ.
congratulations on the OW and the dives. Diving is a great activity, and this is a great board about diving- in fact I'd say it was the best. You can learn, share ,and laugh a lot. Read, post, and get to know some of the more colorful characters that are around here. They are all good folks- though I may hear some dissent to that.
good Luck,
MikeD

Welcome to ScubaBoard and to diving!

I am sure you'll find everyone really pleasant and helpful - any questions you have - fire away.

Glad to have you on board! :mean:

HI Tom,
Welcome. You're in the wreck divers capital of the US. Lots of good diving in NC.I know there are some very good dive shops there. Who did you do your certification with?
As for my " dark past" what can I say? I'm only 21 so my past can't be that dark. OK times two.
:sunny:

I thank you for the new title.... if only my loyal subjects would pay me the proper respect....

But on a more important note, tholt576 welcome to THE best place to spend your SI.

As Syruss so eloquantly phrase, you'll meet a lot of great people here. Some rather unique in their own way, but great all the same.

Hey, I've only been able to dive a little around here. It seems every time I sign up for a charter it gets canceled. I did dive the Alexander Ramsey, (AKA the Lib ship). It's not much in the way of a wreck, but I was pretty excited since it was my first Salt water dive.

I got my certification with Aquatic Safaris. They're a good shop with a younger crowd than the other shop in town.
