Hi all, I have been certified for a few years now, but have only had the opportunity to get about 20 dives in. I am looking forward to increasing that number greatly!
I also wanted to ask for opinions on BCs. I currently have a used BC, that turns out to be leaking, and I am looking to get a newer one. Mostly I am wondering about the differences between the back inflator BCs like the Zeagles, and the vest styles. Any other suggestions as to what to look for would be greatly appreciated. I live in upstate NY so will mostly be doing colder dives, but do plan on heading south a few times. :D
Thanks!

Welcome to SB. You're probably going to be a lot of opinions here, but...

In my opinion, the jacket BCD is great for folks who aren't totally comfortable in the water and want to be greatly supported and held upright on the surface. The back inflate BCD will give you better trim and be more streamline under the surface (easier, less work while diving.) Also, some jackets will squeeze you while inflated, then be too loose at depth.

I've recently moved from a jacket BCD to a back plate and wing.

So sit back and hold on while the opinions come flying. :D
