I've been lurking on here for a while, and the board has started nagging me to make a first post so here goes.

I'm a guy in his mid twenties who was bitten by the scuba bug during a holiday to thailand. since then I've been craving to go diving again, but my lowly student income has been a bit of an impairment in that respect. :shakehead:

I've just gotten my tax refund cheque and intend on blowing it all getting my own set of gear :D, so i've been digging through a lot of old posts reading about potential gear. this place is a great resource for a new diver, although the number of acronyms used certainly take a while to sink in ;)

hey lucky you in australia. I no how you feel im still studying and the funds just dont stretch that far. How far have u got with ur diving?

i did my open water in thailand and liked it so much I stayed on and got my adv open water too. since then I've only dived 3 times here in melbourne but i hope to do a lot more soon while our water is still warm
