Hero 2 to Hero 3 battery charger compatibility

I am planning on switching from a Hero 2 to a Hero 3 black. As I understand it the spare batteries I have for a 2 will not fit the 3. Does anyone know if a Hero 2 charger (Wasabi) will charge the Hero 3 batteries? It appears that both are 3.7 Lithium packs and use a similar mating connector so I am assume there are slight differences in the dimensions to fit the camera housing, but will they fit in a charger?

Even though the 3 battery may physically fit in the 2 charger, you'll note that the polarity of the charging pins is reversed between them.
