Just was given the Mares M2 Console, and the instructions are just about impossible for me to understand. Does anyone out there have one of these? What have your experiences been like? Can you give me some kind of "quick start" guide on how to do basic air diving with this? What are the things to be careful of with this computer? Thanks.

my personal experiences with this console haven't been good. I've had it for approx. two years now, I had it replaced once because it would just start shutting off. Recently I've had an issue that while being stored it loses time and date info, indicating a power failure, I've replaced the batteries. Last dive I did a few days ago I was at 30 fsw and looked at the computer and it wasn't even marking my depth, dive, etc. I've replaced batteries again and I'm waiting to see what happens.

Buttons are hard to press. I'm still using the manual for certain things. Not very "user friendly" in my opinion.

However, the computer does do a lot for it's price range!

I use the Mares M2 watch not console. Not 100% sure I usnderstand your question. Do you have the manual ? On mine top screen displays Dive, Surf, set, time, plan, sim, log, & PC on the bottom is it has Mode and <-> buttons
I click mode and it turns on and goes to dive Displays Fresh "air" depth and temp. to change setting click to set and use mode to set what you need. Not 100% sure your is setup the same way. Not a bad computer for the price.
