help with !! --> Housing fora G9 a wp-dc21 or suitable replacment

hI EVERYONE.

I have G9 and love it. i recently got certified OW and since the G9 only requires a housing to go underwater would really appreciate the help in buying the recomended housing or a suitable replacment for it.

I think if you find a new housing for a G9, it would be terribly expensive because the G9 has been discontinued for quite some time. I think the G12 housing should run a little over USD200 brand new. I would check on ebay if any G9 housings are available too.

There are a few WP-DC21 housings on eBay. Not sure how you can get them to Mumbai? Perhaps you have a contact in the USA that can buy and send it to you?

so is the WP-DC34 (for G12) instead of the WP-DC21 (for G9) housing fully functional for the G9?

The Canon WP-DC21 only fits the G9
The Canon WP-DC28 only fits the G10
The Canon WP-DC34 only fits the G11 and G12

THIS SITE has a list of Canon housings.

The Canon housings are fully functional but some rear housing button pushing is required to compensate for no rear dial on the G10 housing and no front or rear dial on the G12 housing.

If you are coming anywhere near Hawaii and still want a housing for a G9, I have one that I won on eBay. I planned on buying a cheap G9 on eBay and found that they don't go cheap, so now I just have the housing. I'm willing to let it go for $150.

Can we use any industrial silicone grease for the o-ring in camera housing or is the one for housing in particular to be used??
