I'm having some trouble deciding between NAI'A or Aggressor for the 7 days liveaboard trip to Fiji. The impression I had from their websites is that NAI'A has an older boat but goes to better dive sites (including some shark feeding), and Aggressor has a newer boat. Both boats can carry up to 18 passengers but I'm not sure of the exact number they take for liveaboards. The Fiji Aggressor is the Aggressor II.

Would appreciate any help regarding this.

Thanks!
Lynda

Hi Lynda,

Nai'a goes to very similar sites as Fiji Aggressor II.

You could also have a look at Island Dancer II which does a similar trip to Fiji Aggressor II but only has 10 divers on board and has been refurbished this year.

Nai'a is rated as one of the top liveaboards in the world. Older does not mean it is a garbage scow. The Other Dive Related Website has a rather long thread about the Fiji Aggressor, suggest you read. I love Aggressor boats and service however in Fiji I would dive Nai'a.

I was on the Nai'a last year and I thought it was much better than any Aggressor liveaboard I have been on....I have not been on the Fiji Aggressor but ditto about what Doubler said about the other dive related boards article....I also love the Aggressor boats and still dive them but if I go back to Fiji I will book on Nai'a...you will love Fiji and you will love the Nai'a....:D

I agree with the posts above and think that you made the right choice with Nai'a. Actually all the boats are nice, but Nai'a did most of the discovery of the current sites that the liveaboards visit, and probably has more experience from a research perspective. The Island Dancer II used to be in the Aggressor fleet (it was the Fiji Aggressor III, and before that the Sere Ni Wai). It is also a great boat, especially since it only takes 10 divers. Tui Tai is another great boat to consider if you want a more rounded experience. They don't focus exclusively on diving like the other boats in Fiji, but also offer kayaking, biking, hiking, village tours, etc. They also visit areas that no other dive operations go to, and offer levels of luxury that none of the others can. But for focused diving at some of Fiji's best sites, Nai'a gets my vote.
