hi all, my husband and i are going to whitsundays next Jan for a diving trips for 3days. we want to see the best coral in great barrier reef therefore someone told us it's better to go on a cruise to outer barriar reef. is anyone has any suggestion or recommendation where we should go or which cruise boat we should choose? thanks!

If you want to see the best of the GBR, and had only three days to do it, I wouldn't go to the Whitsundays...I'd do a 4/3 or 5/4 trip out of Cairns on the Spirit of Freedom, Mike Ball, or Taka. The Whitsundays are beautiful but diving is mediocre in comparison

well, we already bought the flight tickets to whitsundays... so what the best choice we have in whitsundays?

To be honest I can only say that the Whitsundays are more known for sailing trips and the islands rather than diving. Most head up north as ocdiver1 said. Oceanana dive was the only schooll I knew and they closed a while ago. Howver there are plenty of sailing trips that do offer diving on the side. Bit more pricey, but still good. Here is a link to the only dive school I know of. Maybe they can help a bit more. Whitsunday Dive Centre | PADI Courses, Learn to Dive, Open Water, Rescue

H2OSportz are based on Hamilton Island. I've not used them but have heard good things from friends and colleagues.
