got my galileo terra a couple of months ago, have not had the chance to dive with it yet. was playing around with it today and realised that there's an air bubble on the screen. i know the unit is oil filled, and the bubble is just floating around. pretty irritating!

what should i do? i bought it from leisurepro.com but i am based in singapore. do i have to send it back to them?

This should be interesting.

It's a factory defect. Uwatec would swap it out with you as soon as the dealer sent it back, however you didn't get it from a Uwatec dealer, so the unit has no Uwatec warranty.

Any SCUBAPro or Uwatec products purchased at LP have to go back to LP for service. Unfortunately, LP has no way to fix this. This means that either LP eats the cost of the computer, secretly sends it back to Uwatec, or tells you that you're out of luck.

Please let us know what happens.

hello terry.

to update everyone on this matter, the item was sent back to leisurepro from singapore to the USA, they promise that they will cover my shipping cost and replace a new unit for me.

they did replace a new unit for me, to which i am very happy about. no questions asked, they sent out a replacement with a day or 2. :)

but there was a couple of small hiccups. first, i stated on my return form that i wanted the item sent back to singapore, where i stay. instead they sent it to hong kong, where the purchase was delivered to when i first bought it. its was the address they have in their database and it just got sent there. a little more hassle getting it back to me, but hey, i'm just happy i got a replacement unit.

getting the shipping charges they promised to refund me is also a little complicated. they apparently refunded the amount to amazon, whom i bought the computers from. still bouncing emails back and fro about how its done and where is it.

BUT, at the end of the day, i got a replacement. and thats the outcome i was looking for, anything in between can be sorted out in time.

update again:

all sorted out. they actually refunded my shipping to amazon.com and it's processing now.

all's good!

I noticed an air bubble in my galileo SOL and the diameter is about 0.45mm, I refered the issue to Scubapro and Per Scubapro, air bubbles are normal at altitude and should go away when at sea level, I quote Eric of Scubapro "A bubble that size (0.45mm)should be gone at Sea Level, and just cosmetic at altitude"

Im located at Phoenix, AZ and altitude is 1,650ft above sea level, I hope it will go away when diving at sea level or below sea level. I hope this info would enlighten other Galileo owners.
