The Andrew "Red" Harris Foundation is a 501C3 non profit formed in 2014 after my son was struck by a boat while snorkeling.
The foundation is building artificial reefs to enhance the marine environment, take pressure off our natural reefs and to provide new diving and fishing resources.
Our first reefs will be made with huge, hand sculpted concrete modules. we will also employ ships and bridge debris on future reefs. we have completed over 20 of the modules and will have our first deployment of 40 modules in August, 2015.
On Tuesday June 2, 2015 the Palm Beach County, Florida Board of County Commissioners approved the foundation's partnership agreement and $260,000 in funding over the next three years. They also approved officially naming the new reefs the "Andrew "Red" Harris Foundation Reef".

I recorded a Public Service Announcement at Palm Beach Broadcasting (WRMF, WJNO, WIRK, SUNY and 3 more) yesterday that gives a quick description:
Hi, this is Scott Harris inviting you to join The Andrew Red Harris Foundations
work to improve our Palm Beach County marine environment by building artificial reefs with beautiful 5000 pound 8 foot tall hand sculpted concrete modules.
Nothing like them has been made anywhere else in the world.
Visit our site at http://andrewredharrisfoundation.org to see pictures and videos
of the unique world- class artificial reefs we are making.
This is just the beginning- now is the time to contribute and get involved!
We have been getting mostly local contributions, but have received contributions from all over the country. I would like to expand our reach and get even more like-minded people involved.
Please go to our website at Andrew Red Harris Foundation | Building Artificial Reefs to Enhance the Marine Environment , learn more about what we are doing and join us!
