I have a free flight that I can use to go to Cozumel.
Never been, so would be awesome.

I am trying to build a SUPER cheap trip. Would arrive on the 28th, and leave March 3rd. So two days of diving.
Trying to find a dive resort, but not digging the prices.

Anyone have any good ideas on how to make this as cheap as possible?

lots and lots of cheap choices in Cozumel. Check out Barracuda/Dive Paradise and also AquaSafari.

Not sure what your budget is but Vista del Mar is about 72 dollars a night on orbiz. There are even cheaper place if you want to stay a few blocks of the water in town. Hotel Cozumel is usually reasonable too. Cheap diving would be about 60 bucks for 2 tank dive.

well the op did say they had never been before....so they probably just don't know where to look.....

You're kidding, right?

I suggest you read the "sticky" that Christi submitted. Lots of data to browse. Good luck, have fun.

uh...no..there are people believe it or not that have never been to Cozumel...shocking as it may sound:blinking:

With the plethora of information available on the internet, Scubaboard notwithstanding, it's not difficult to find the information you're looking for. Albeit a bit time consuming. You don't actually have to drive a Ferrari to know its a fast car. You don't have to actually go to the Island to find out the good deals... heck, in most cases, you don't even have to bother with a long distance phone call! In fact, visiting the island and going door-to-door to find out what places charge would be much more cumbersome than utilizing the internet or telephone from anywhere else in the world. YMMV.

when i go with buddies who are budget consious we stay at aqua safari inn. $40. large clean rooms with several beds. we sometimes put 3 guys in a room and pay $15 each. no frills like tv etc. for restaurants, we eat with locals. el dorado, chilangos, and los plamas are all good and inexpensive. easy to hold costs down and have fun. one thing we do not worry about price on is dive op. that is why we are there and we do it with excellent ops.
