My wife & I would like to go somewhere in the Pacific for a couple of weeks. Ideally, we are looking for a place where we can combine shore diving and boat diving. We also want a place where there is a lot of fish & macro life to photograph UW. Is there a place where you can dive a lot of sites that meets these criteria? I would prefer not going the liveaboard route due to the cost. So far, I am considering Fiji, Palau, or the Phillipines. Sorry if this question is too open-ended.

have you considered Uepi, in the Solomon Islands? Brilliant shore diving plus boat dives that are generally close by. take a look at the web site (www.uepi.com). this place is amazing and perfect for a photographer. I go there twice a year and still photograph new things every time. Plus, they are very easy to get on with if you want to spend hours underwater (assuming you are competant to do so).

Uepi is stunning both above and below water & while not the cheapest destination, is an all inclusive tarrif - so no nasty surprises on the visa/mastercard when you get home.

Meals are great with stacks of seafood and special diets are catered for.

You'll see on their website that 20 or so is a full house, so its quiet, relaxing and unspoilt - no phones, TV, radio etc.

go there to veg out, dive, swim, snorkel and be part of a very special place.

Please drop me an email (cbimages@ceinternet.com) with any questions you might have

cheers

Carol
