Hi, its my wife's 40th, and she wants to see Hammerheads, from a liveaboard, but there is to much choice, does any one have any idea's, or links. We live in the Uk.

Thanks

Alan

Willing to travel to Costa Rica? If so Cocos Island off the coast on one of the Hunter boats is an option: Diving Hammerheads Cocos Island Costa Rica

Or the Okeanos Aggressor also goes there.

Recent post about Cocos here. Also look in the Central America forum for more info.

Or you could try SolmarV out of Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. They'll be out at the Socorros all spring. Mantas, Hammerheads, White Tips, Silver Tips, Silkies, Dolphins, just about anything is possible out there. But I think they're all sold out for the year.

That's a tough one! Hammerheads are usually solitary creatures and not easy to predict. About the only place you are guaranteed to find them is where they school - Galapagos Islands, Ecuador or Cocos Island, Costa Rica. (Sjspeck posted the links for websites)
A chance to see them in Socorro with Solmar V but I have heard it is very hit or miss there, mantas are guaranteed but hammerheads and whale sharks aren't.

Since that is only 4 months away and those trips are very popular and booked waaaaay in advance, you may have a rough time finding space. You need to book soon if you find a space anywhere.

I agree about the late booking comment - the OP will probably only be able to get on if there is a cancellation.

Hi, thanks for all the info it, give me a something to work on, But Dan you are right time is not on my side. What about South Africa, I know liveaboradds are not availbale but are HH see from shore diving (desperate, nearly).

there are a couple of other liveaboards for Galapagos you might want to contact:
Explorer Ventures: Adventures in Live-Aboard Diving
and
Peter Hughes Diving Inc.

if she wants to be in the water with hammerheads!

I just checked the Aggressor website for availability on Cocos/Okeanos boat and they have spots available on the March 25th trip. Aggressor: Cocos Island, Costa Rica, scuba diving, Hammerhead Sharks
just click on "reservations" and put in the boat and date range you can go. You might be able to make this happen.
