I picked up a OMS remote for my isolator manifold from a shop while I was overseas. I wasn't able to mount it until I returned home. Unfortunately, I've tried to mount it and it just slides right off the valve. Just wondering if I'm missing a part or if it just doesn't work for me..... any help would be appreciated.........

I believe there is an alen key (hex) screw that has to be tightened to hold it on to the valve stem.

Just wondering, can you reach your other valves and just not the isolator?

I think it's pretty obviously one of two things:

a) God doesn't want you using a slobwinder, or

b) Your isolator valve is rejecting the slobwinder out of a sense of greater good. :eyebrow:

Those things do NOT belong on dive gear. If you can't reach your isolator valve, there are some nifty stretching exercises you can do, or modifications to remove the restriction in poor fitting drysuits or ds underwear. But - please don't put a slobwinder on your knobs. For your sake.

Sorry if that comes across as harsh - but I mean it. There's no practical reason to use one of those things - and subbing equipment for skills is no way to manage your long-term survival in a very unforgiving environment.

Quick, hide, the clones are about to attack... :cyborg:

There are a number of issues with isolator extensions that you should at least be aware of before you use one. Basically, they're failure prone in a number of different ways, you can search using the term "slobwinder" and find a number of discussions on the topic. You might have to wade through a lot of "harsh" chaff to find the grain, but it's there.

Instead of the extension, you might consider exercises designed to help you improve your flexibility and make it easier to reach your valves. Cameron Martz has some excellent stuff on his website, www.divefitness.com - especially this: Five Stretches for Shoulder Mobility: How to Reach Your Valves

Thanks, I appreciate the insult, classy. Next time, instead of being diplomatic, I'll just write "only strokes use those things" since I get flamed either way......

Careful, "they" will erase your posts...at least they removed mine on the Dress To Success theads. It's funny how member posts get pulled, edited or closed when you confront content from a Mod post, but the post from the Mod that contained the offending statements that start this kind or stuff never seems to get pulled or edited. It's time the "staff" start looking at their own content.

I enjoy reading technical discussion vs. flame posts. I suggest Reefraff edit the potentially conterversal tone/material from his post:

After that, remove this and my other post, along with Booie711 and Mass-Diver's since we all reacted to your content which did nothing positive to this thread.

Boogie711:
I'm curious, Reefraff - what did you mean by "clones?"

You are wrong. Again.
Mod posts as well as member posts were pulled from that thread.
