Help! My recently new and only 14 dive deep mk25 has chrome flaking! The chrome is flaking off the retaining nut which holds the yoke adapter to the reg. It seems as if there was a fault in the chrome and salt water has gotten under it and rusted it off. My question is since it is only about half a year old and still very new and under all warranties, what do I do to go about getting this fixed? I hope scubapro will take care of this? Where do I go or what do i need to do to get it to be fixed under warranty? Thanks for your help!

SP will replace it on any chrome problem. They aren't picky on the warranty part.

First, contact your LDS where you bought from. Otherwise, you can contact SP customer service. They are listening to what customer is saying.

BTW, you don't need 2nd stage anymore?

I am going to take it back to the shop I got it from in a couple days, but i am currently in the keys diving and wont be home until wed or so. I just want to kno what the best way to go about this is. I have a g250 second....and yes i like to think its needed.

It should not be a problem at all.

With the Mk 20 recall and the number of MK 25 yoke retainer consequently being stocked, the odds are excellent that the LDS will have a new yoke retainer in stock and should be able to do the swap for you in about 5 minutes at no charge. This is the big advantage to buying from a dealer rather than "saving" a few bucks and buying from Leisure-pro, etc.

The flaking chrome should not be an issue during your trip as in the short term it is only a cosmetic issue - as long as the flaking is on the outside and not on the inside where it could plug the filter, etc.
