Help me install my pressure gauge

I just received my new OMS pressure gauge. There is a tiny piece that seems to fit into the gauge before the hose is attached. Once that is done is there anything I need to do besides screwing it into my first stage? How tight does it need to be?

Is the tiny piece a little tube with an o-ring on each end?

Assuming that it is, just snug it up pretty good. When it stops tightening, stop tightening it.
